Switchee integrates with zero-emission Theme 1 heating systems such as air source and ground source heat pumps, providing easy set schedules for residents to follow and cost and performance analysis of usage to ensure they are having maximum impact for the resident.

Unlike one-off surveys, Switchee continues to monitor homes for years after installation. This means landlords can be confident SHNZHF-funded upgrades continue to cut carbon, reduce fuel poverty, reduce mould-inducing conditions and improve wellbeing long after projects end.

What is the Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund (SHNZHF)?

The Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund supports Scottish social landlords to decarbonise their housing stock while protecting tenants from fuel poverty. Funding is available under two themes:

Theme 1: replacing polluting heating systems with clean, zero-emission alternatives, such as air source and ground source heat pumps.
Theme 2: fabric-first and enabling measures, including insulation, ventilation upgrades and heating controls. The SHNZHF aims to cut carbon emissions, lower energy costs, create greener jobs, and improve health and well-being for tenants.

Smart heating controls, such as Switchee, are explicitly eligible under Theme 2, and when paired with a heat pump also support Theme 1 works. This makes Switchee a powerful tool for landlords to achieve SHNZHF goals and ensure projects deliver measurable results. Pre/post data can be shared directly through exportable reports or APIs, meeting SHNZHF's reporting and audit requirements with ease.
