12 February 2025: Awaab’s Law marks a crucial step towards ensuring safe and healthy social housing for all. Switchee welcomes Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner’s, statement on Awaab’s Law and pledges our full support to social housing providers, the government, and residents to ensure its successful and long-term implementation.
Awaab’s Law, named in memory of Awaab Ishak, mandates social housing landlords to address damp and mould hazards swiftly, reinforcing the responsibility of ensuring homes are safe and habitable.
